The Laptop
For anyone thinking of buying a Sony Vaio PCG-R505JEK, this is what they look like...
Wireless Internet
The wireless card I am using is a Linksys WPC54G, version 3 (pictured below). Unfortunately, I haven't managed to get this card working yet.
In this section, I intend to keep some notes about the things I have tried to get this card to work. If you are also having problems with the same card (version 3), please send me an email -- I am looking for other people who are experiencing the same problem and who are willing to collaborate on trying to find a solution. Also, if you add your name to this list, you'll automatically get an email from me when we seem to have found a solution.
Currently, there is only one member of the 'Problems with Linksys WPC54G (Version 3) for Linux' email list (that's me). Let me know if you wish to join this list to receive updates on any progress we make.
I'm trying to get my wireless card working using NdisWrapper. So far no luck.

Details about my system:
- I am running version 2.6.8 of the linux kernel.
- The power light of the linksys card turns on OK when it is plugged into the laptop.
Running lspci gives... (non-relevant output removed)
0000:02:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02)
If you have managed to get this card to work (again, version 3), please be so kind as to email me with some notes describing the process you went through. I will share your notes with the others who are having problems.
Thanks.
